Choosing the right Mobile Phone for you is something you should consider while buying a new one. It sure can be a pain in the ass to filter through hundreds of numbers out there to come up with a device that suits in every way. And once you buy a mobile which you’ll feel that it was not the right one, your mind will get flooded with regrets. You seriously don’t want that to happen, do you?

In this post, I’ll be helping you to filter your way to find the perfect mobile phone for you. Grab a cup of coffee or a beverage and keep reading.

Let’s find the Perfect Phone for you!

#1) Set your Price Range.

Whenever you’re buying something new, you must have a price range set, in which your purchase should stay. Nowadays, mobile phones are available from $49 to $960 in cost. As the specifications and the way they brand themselves differs, the price also does the same.

It’ll be a wise move to understand your financial status, your need for a phone and the market value of mobiles before buying one. I recommend you not to buy mobiles phones under the price tag of $120. According to the market trend, these phones must be having some problem or another. In this fast pacing world, you might not be even able to catch up with the facilities you’ll be needing if you buy a phone under that range.

If you’re an average user, I also suggest you not to go beyond the price tag of $640. The phones which comes under $180 to $390s are highly recommended. I did a bit of a research on the marketplace and I’ve found that these phones will suit almost the your every needs.

Considering these facts in mind and taking a look at your Bank and after planning ahead, come up with a price range before proceeding to the next step.

#2) Choose the Operating System (OS).

An operating system that is specifically designed to run on mobile devices such as mobile phones, smartphones, and tablets. The mobile operating system is the software platform on top of which other programs, called application programs, can run on mobile devices.
Even though there are different mobile operating systems like :

  1. Symbian.
  2. Android.
  3. Apple iOs.
  4. BlackBerry OS.
  5. Windows OS.
  6. Bada.
  7. Palm OS.
  8. Open WebOS.
  9. Maemo.
  10. MeeGo etc.

The Android, Apple iOs and the Windows OS are the giants which rule the industry. All of these OS have different functions and interface. The way they work and they way you should work on it differs. Some can be overwhelming for you, can be tough or some can be user-friendly and suitable for you.

When you’re a buying a mobile, it’s essential to make sure that the OS it runs will suit you in every ways. And the one and only evenway to filter the right OS is to trying using them. I recommend try using Android, Apple iOS and the Windows OS for sure. But how? Go to your nearest digital shop and tell them that you need to buy a phone and you’re confused between the Operating Systems. They will walk you through the OS’s which you demand and explain you how things work. You’ll get the chance to have your hands on them and come up with a decision.
You can even use your friend’s phones to compare between the operating systems.

According to various studies, it’s found that Android is beating up all it’s alternatives including the major competitions – Windows OS and Apple iOS. I’d personally suggest Android itself. It is the world’s most popular mobile platform and I love it because of it’s awesome user-friendly interface and extended features.

But still, you have your freedom to compare between the other operating systems. Once you’ve made your decision, let’s move on to the next part.

#3) Know your Needs

You’re going to buy a phone, but why? ( Hey, it rhymes by the way ).
You need to answer these questions before choosing a mobile phone.

  • Why do I need a mobile phone right now?
  • What should be the size of the phone?
  • What all features should it have?
  • What should be the camera quality?
  • What all applications do you need?
  • What should be the RAM, the processor? and so…

Simply put, you will have to find out your need of a mobile phone. Now, note down the specifications and actual needs you need on your new phone. This will help you filter through your mobile phone through the marketplace quickly.

#4) Surf and Filter through the Marketplace.

Now that you’ve set the price range, the operating system which your phone should run on and know your needs for a phone. It’s time to dive into the diverse collection of mobiles and buy one for real.

You can use online shops or even real world shops to go through mobiles. But I recommend you to use online shopping websites like Flipkart and SnapDeal which will make the task easier for you. Almost every device which are available to buy will be listed on these sites and you’ll get to look through all the detailed features and specifications without stepping out of your home.

These websites will allow you to filter your device by selecting your price range, your OS and even through specifications which comes quite handy. Now, go through these marketplaces and familiarize yourself with some mobiles. Take a pen and a paper or use notepad to list down all the mobiles that comes under your radar with the features you need. Repeat this process until you make a list of at least 15 different mobiles.

#5) Make the Decision!

Now that you have your list of 15 or more mobiles, it’s time to funnel it further down and come up with a decision.

Here’s what you need to do :

  • Read reviews.
  • Compare the devices.
  • Cross-check the specifications.
  • Go through the price.

Think, think and think even harder. Because you seriously don’t want to regret about your decision later.

Over to you!

Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed the post and will take something away. Good luck buying your new Awesome Mobile.

I would also like to introduce you to two new mobiles which grabbed my attention with amazing specifications and hopeful effectiveness. And they are :

  • Oppo Find7 – $617
  • Gionee Elife E7 – $438

Both of these are cutting-edge devices which has some super cool features. I recommend you to dive into these phones and include them on your list.

I’m planning to buy a new mobile soon and I’m having a hard time to pick between the Oppo Find7 and the Gionee Elife E7. And I will be sure to write the review of the mobile once I get my hands on it.

Thanks for reading! :)

  1. I liked your article but I don’t think for the average user RAM and processor speed should even be a consideration.. I think the overall user experience and how intuitive the system is is more important. I think these days only the hard-core spec heads really care about that stuff. And I’m sure you’re ou’re not writing this article for them. IMHO
