When the EXIT polls are on the go and only 24 hours are remaining to decide that in which way the tables are going to turn their way for winning the throne of INDIA, a study has came out from the sources. It is been assumes and claimed that Google – The search Giant plays a very important role in the outcomes of our Loksabha Elections 2014.
Speculations and research reveals that Google’s search results can affect significantly in our Loksabha Elections 2014. Before some months a study over the most dynamic democratic elections of the year 2014 i.e. Indian Loksabha Elections. The study went over for many weeks around where it revealed that Google has the capacity to fix the elections and the results as well.
This is been under speculations for a longer time and can be claimed to have such outcomes because the search rankings of Google includes people’s visions. Before we plunge into the Google’s search ranking technique let me brief you out with what actually these search rankings are by the defination of Wikipedia:
“PageRank is an algorithm used by Google Search to rank websites in their search engine results. PageRank was named after Larry Page, one of the founders of Google. PageRank is a way of measuring the importance of website pages”
So, in a way these search rankings are those on which people highly rely their decisions but in actual sense such results are the ads of business people who have their results ranked high through paid ads on Google. Such results can easily prove Arvind Kejriwal to be the best instead of Narendra Modi for the Elections 2014. This has been proved by the study made.
The researchers also did a similar kind of research and study over the America. Researchers found that there was a partiality on the literal basis in the search rankings. The search results showed the results of those who had maximum amount of information tucked into their sites and the people in the dilemma voted for the ones who were ranked high in Google.
What researchers found in our India’s election time was that in the last week more than 2000 people flipped their votes from party A to party B leading to some significant moves into the elections. Around 12% of voters did this. Dr. Robert Apsteen, Professor of American Institute for Behavioural Research and Technology says that such dynamism is very dangerous for a democratic country and for people’s democracy.
If in case the opposition parties are fighting for the seats and the throne manually than its not an issue but in case it comes to Google’s search ranking than this is a harmful to the one who deserves as well as beneficiary for the one who is not deserving. The votes can slide easily on the other side leading to drastic results for a country’s democracy.
Though Namo may work hard for the campaigns and do its political marketing but if the search results shows something related to Kejriwal than people are going to move their decisions without any second thoughts.
Now the clock is already ticking and only 24 hours are left to see what is going to happen and who is going to be the king for the next 5 years for our motherland India.
